It is hard to put a finger on what makes Yosemite unique among wilderness destinations. I think it is a blending of different elements that make Yosemite one of the most beautiful places on earth. Light, water, glacier polished granite, wind, and weather come together in just the right amount. A wonderful natural pallet that changes dramatically with the seasons. A pallet that can be both subtle and dramatically affected by the clouds.
The clouds seem to take on a life of their own. They interact with, and change the environment with a kaleidoscope of moods, happy, somber, fun, dangerous, and enchanting.
They hold us spell bound, and enraptured in the great outdoor cathedral that is the Sierra Nevada.
