Our lodge is perfect for couples, families and executive retreats. Unusual for most vacation rental homes in the Yosemite West community, the Peregrine Lodge is situated on a rather level area. This means you do not have to negotiate the steep stairs that earmark many nearby houses. Entering the home through a door on the same level as the parking, you will find easy access for the unloading of your luggage. There you will find entry to three guest bedrooms.
Each bedroom has both interior and exterior entries. They each have their own sink and shower, entry to their own private deck area, and a unique and beautiful floor to ceiling fireplace. As an added benefit of the bedrooms being situated on the first level, you will experience privacy from the activity of the upper floor with the great room, dining room, kitchen and loft
This separation and intimate setting makes this home uniquely suited for multiple couples, families or groups to have a space of their own. The unique and cozy rooms are thematic in nature.
The main floor features a living room with a floor to ceiling rock fireplace with a design of Yosemite Falls. The plush and comfortable furniture in the great room will embrace you after a long day of exploring the park.
Tiled floors heated in the winter offer a cozy warm environment in the colder months and nice cool floors in warmer weather. Bench seating which wraps around the room along the windows offer a great place to sit, read or have a favorite drink while you look out at the trees and distant mountains. Read a favorite book or borrow one of the many interesting books available in our library while your cares and concerns fall away. Or plan your next day's adventure with our many books and guides of Yosemite National Park.
The dining room features a redwood dining table, a granite serving bar and lots more windows, a perfect place to share a meal with 8. The kitchen has a large sub zero fridge, a preparation island, granite counter tops, two Bosch dishwashers (for large groups) and loads of cupboards filled with dishes, pots, utensils and basic supplies. For those BBQ chefs in your group, a gas grill is available on the deck right next to the kitchen.
For those of you who love snow and snow activities, we are very close to the Badger Pass Ski Resort for cross country and downhill skiing. Though spring is coming we still have lots of snow and the Badger Pass Ski Area is still open for snow play, and cross country skiing. Book The Entire Lodge
New for 2018 we have decided to introduce our "booking seasons". We have a wonderful occupancy during the most popular months in the park between May 1 and October 31. However we have found over time that winter bookings drop off starting in November.
I have noted that between November 1 and April 30 we receive a lot of requests for rooms only, and mainly for weekends. So we have decided to offer our rooms during this time frame. I believe we can meet an important need of the Yosemite winter visitor with our new booking season.
We will continue to offer the entire home for Thanksgiving and Christmas which are very popular family holidays. If our date range does not exactly match what you are looking for around those holidays just give us a call and we can talk about your needs.
Whether you are here to hike, climb, play, adventure, relax, contemplate, re-unite with family and friends or just leave it all behind for a while you, will have an experience of a lifetime. We would love for you to share your special moment with us and with the world.
The cabin was beautiful, spacious, and well equipped. David was so helpful and accommodating. A++
Beautiful and very well maintained cabin just minutes from Yosemite Valley. David was extremely helpful getting us situated and giving us excellent recommendations regarding dining, hikes, etc. Would love to stay again!
Thank you for your review of our lodge.
We enjoyed having you stay with us. I am happy you appreciated my recommendations. I like very much to speak with our guests and to answer questions regarding the lodge and the park.
I think offering local insight to the park and it’s attractions is a very important roll. Not all of our guests require or desire my input, and that is just fine. My goal is to give each of our guests the privacy they want. Thank you again for staying with us during your time in Yosemite.
The owner, David, communicated early about the particulars of our stay so there were no unanswered questions. He also met us at check in and explained all the features of the home. The house has enough room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen is exceedingly well stocked including all the spices and oils for a grand meal. The central location is a quick twenty minutes to the valley floor, the Tolumne sequoia grove/gas station and Glacier Point for daytime sight seeing and night time dining at the Ahwanee Hotel or Mountain room. Dining at the Wawona Lodge is but fifteen minutes away in the opposite direction. The unit is very clean, towels are fluffy and no shortage of supplies. The in floor radiant heat takes a while to heat up but once going provides comfortable heating. Internet is decent and the TV channel selection sufficient. All in all a really nice place to stay and considering all the room and amenities a much better bang for the buck than staying at one of the park hotels.
Thank you for your review and sharing your experiences in the park. I like that one can appreciate adventure and fine dining here in Yosemite National Park.
We have a saying on the trail, its not the destination, and it's not the journey to the destination, its what you eat at the destination that matters :-) Speaking of which, I am happy you enjoyed our kitchen.
I like to think that a home is much nicer then a hotel room and I am glad you agree. It lets the family do what families do at home while adventuring.
As a side note, thank you Richard for your feed back on our lodge, and recommendations via your emails and texting post stay. I like to have our guests share ideas, and thoughts on what works and what can make things work a little better.
My group arrived later Friday evening than anticipated, and David (the gracious host) greeted us warmly and provided a tour of the expansive facilities. Super close to Tunnel View and Glacier Point road access, this spot is both incredibly convenient for seeing some great sights, and also for coming back for R&R after a long day of hiking and exploring. David was a fantastic host, allowing us privacy and also being available for any issues that might arise during our stay (though there were none!). He even has a high-altitude cook book for any foodies! If you want to see Yosemite and have a warm, cozy, fun place to stay, this is it!
Thank you so much for your review. Your appreciation of my service during your stay is encouraging and your mention tells me that our effort here pays off in making the guest experience the best we can.
We do not have a 24/7 office to check in as one may find at the lodges in the valley. But I understand that our guests have schedules that will sometimes require a late check in. In those cases I do my best to be available when needed. For the benefit of those who have not stayed with us let me just say I understand that travel is a tiring process. Many of our guests arrive to the lodge after at least 4 or more hours in the car, and often after a plane trip.
So while I like to get our travelers settled in with a good tour of this large home I will often speed up the tour for the benefit of our late and weary arriving guests. I trust that if I miss anything or there are questions our guest will just ask me about it during their stay.
I am available here at the lodge at the office, via phone, and our guests favorite, texting. Love the modern technologies. Thanks again Sam.
We had six people staying at the house over Columbus Day weekend in October. The living room, dining room, and kitchen area was very comfortable for the six of us. The kitchen is well equipped making meal preparation easy. The bedrooms were all fine. We enjoyed playing pool one night, and sitting in the living room catching up on other nights. The location is excellent, close to Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point. We didn't have time to sit outside, but wish we could have. I would recommend this house for your visit.
Hello Connie, Thank you for your review. October is one of the best months to visit the park. The crowds start to thin and the air is clear of the summer wildfire smoke that can come up as well as the pollens and dust of summer. I like how you managed to fit so much into your stay and the trade off of spending the time on the deck was a wise one given the time you had here. We would love to have you back, thank you!
